Meade 20 Inch RCX400 f/8 Advanced Ritchey-Cretien OTA w/UHTC Coatings

Designed to provide optical performance superior to anything else on the market the Meade 20-Inch RCX400 f/8 Advanced Ritchey-Chretien OTA with UHTC Coatings is the perfect choice for serious astronomers and astrophotographers. The fast f/8 Ritchey-Chretien telescope design produces a large and flat coma-free field of view from edge to edge enabling you to capture sharp crisp images across a wider field. This technology is utilized in virtually every observatory in the world as well as the Hubble Space Telescope. Meade engineers enhanced the RC design by eliminating the standard secondary mirror support structure. As a result astigmatism is minimized diffraction spikes are eliminated image contrast and brightness are maximized and overall performance is improved. The Series 5000 24mm 2-inch O.D. eyepiece offers an ultra-wide angle - an astounding 82-degree apparent field of view. New carbon graphite and Kevlar tubing give the RCX400 its unique look and maintains the spacing between optics to ensure that focus settings do not change with the surrounding temperature. New front- and rear-cell architecture with a built-in fan and multi-port panel with three USB ports permits maximum airflow around the optics for the quickest cool-down times. The RCX400 drive base also includes a single USB 2.0 port providing you with simultaneous control over both the telescope and camera using Meade's AutoStar Suite software. The Ultra-High Transmission Coatings increase total light transmission and image brightness by up to 20 percent in comparison to standard coatings making stars and nebulae appear significantly brighter. Other features include precision GPS alignment 1000 magnification power 8x50 finder scope 650-tooth worm gear RA and Dec drive axes AC adapter power Smart Mount Smart Drive internal cabling heavy-duty fork mounts and altazimuth and equatorial operation. This professional-grade telescope is crafted at Meade's state-of-the-art facility in Irvine California. Originally founded in 1972 as a small start-up Meade Instruments Corporation is a world leader in both the design and manufacturing of telescopes for amateur astronomers. Meade combines innovation technological advances and a commitment to customer satisfaction product quality and value.
